Mona Glass works as a freelance artist in Berlin. Born in Hamburg, she came to Berlin in 2010, starting her studies in art history and theatre science at Freie Universität Berlin. After finishing her BA in 2016 she entered the MA program “Bühnenbild_Szenischer Raum” (stage design, scenography) at Technische Universität Berlin, graduating in 2018.

Her artistic expression started out with painting at an early age. The curiosity of leaving the two- dimensional medium and the aim to create a rather immersive and participative kind of art, made her move further into a scenic room spectrum. She worked in a theatre for several years, as a directors- and stage design assistant and later on realized her own stage designs and projects within the independent theatre, dance and film scene. As a freelance artist she deals with environmental, system structural and sociopolitical questions of identity, social interaction and everyones individual impact on creating reality. She paints, develops experimental movies and audiovisual installations, conceptual sculptures and performances based on interaction.

In 2019 she initiated the foundation of “Experimentelles Zukunftslabor e.V.”, an interdisciplinary group of people developing future- oriented projects and cultural events with an interactive focus, aiming for the realization of positive future visions.

2022 she opened „Raum für Raum“. A space where she invites to participate in diverse art formats as inspiring experiences. She tries to create a welcoming atmosphere to experiment within an intimate space, where the border between art(ist) and audience dissolves.
